Willem Harold Boog (Netherlands)
Willem Harold Boog (b. 1964) is city organist of Zeist (Netherlands), a church musician and an international concert organist. He graduated from the conservatory with Jos van der Kooy (organ, church music, improvisation). He also studied with Remy Syrier (harpsichord), Willem Hendrik Zwart (chorale art), Christoph Schoener (Bach & Mendelssohn) and Istvan Baróti (Liszt, Widor & Franck). He holds the title of Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau. He has produced 17 CD recordings and radio- and television broadcasts, and is active as a choir conductor, composer and teacher. In addition to many concerts in the Netherlands (including the 35th Traditional Orange Concert on King's Day & the 34rd International Organ Concert Series Oosterkerk Zeist), Germany, England, Canada & America, he has made four concert tours through Flanders, Austria, Poland, Hungary and Italy. He also organized a very successful Flemish-Dutch Organ Festival in Zeist in 2023. He has been called the 'standard bearer of Dutch choral art after Jan Zwart'.
