Organ at St Michael's ChurchThe current St Michael's Church in Dún Laoghaire incorporates the spire of the original church, the only part of the old building left standing after it was destroyed in a spectacular fire (which, ironically, is reputed to have started in the organ). The organ is located at the front of the church, immediately to the left of the high altar. The Brustwerk is at the front of the case, directly above the console; the shutters, unusually, are made of glass. The key- and stop-action is mechanical throughout, and there are no registration aids, save three pedals to engage the couplers.
