Michael Quinn is an organist, pianist and educator, with a passion for early music and new music, whose performances have been praised for ‘bringing the music alive’ (Haarlems Dagblad) and their ‘range of colour’ (Irish Times). He has performed across the country as well as internationally in France, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and Romania, and broadcast on RTÉ radio and television. Michael studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Trinity College Dublin, and the Royal Conservatory, The Hague. He is currently organist of the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook. In 2008 he co-founded Dublin Sound Lab with the composer Fergal Dowling to perform and promote contemporary electroacoustic music. A native of Dublin, Michael now lives in Louisburgh, Co. Mayo, where he established Louisburgh Music School and the choir Louisburgh Voices with Pauline Graham. Current plans include a CD of new music to be recorded on the organ of St Patrick’s Church, Newport, Mayo, later this year, as well as voice and piano recitals with Pauline Graham.
