Mark Keane, organ
Mark Keane is a music graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Technological University Dublin (formerly DIT) where he studied organ with Peter Sweeney and conducting with Ite O’Donovan. He has a Masters in Chant and Ritual Studies from the University of Limerick and also holds diplomas in organ and conducting from the Royal College of Organists, the Royal School of Music and Trinity College London. Mark has recently completed doctoral studies at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Trinity College Dublin, where his research focused on Domestic Sacred Domestic Music in Jacobean England. A former organ scholar at St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin, Mark is now Organist and Director of Music at Tuam Cathedral, Galway. He is Head of Music at Galway Community College and conductor of Tribal Chamber Choir. Mark also directs the Dublin Consort Singers, who recently released an album with the Fretwork viol consort of the complete domestic music of John Amner on the Rubicon Classics Label to great acclaim. A regular organ recitalist on the international platform, Mark has performed in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Sydney; Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark; St Thomas Church, New York; St James’ Cathedral, Toronto; Trinity Church and King’s Chapel, Boston; and Westminster Abbey, London.
