GYULA NAGY is a Hungarian baritone and currently a young artist at the Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. He studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music with teacher Philip O'Reilly and vocal coaches Brenda Hurley and Andrew Synnott. Gyula is also an alumnus of the National Opera Studio, London and the Opera Theatre Company's Young Associate Artists' Programme in Dublin. In 2016 as a Welsh National Opera Associate Artist, Gyula sang the role of Silvio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. His operatic roles also include Count Almaviva (WNO 2016, cover), Escamillo (Scottish Opera 2015, cover), Don Giovanni (National Opera Studio 2015), Tarquinius in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia (Irish Youth Opera 2014) and the Forester in Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen (Royal Irish Academy of Music 2014). Gyula has worked with the Irish Baroque Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra, and has sung with the Dún Laoghaire Choral Society, Carlow Choral Society, University of Dublin Choral Society, Limerick Choral Union and Galway Choral Association. JUDIT MÁTÉ was born in Hungary and started the organ at the age of fourteen with Edit Sabján. She recently completed her master's in organ performance at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, where she was awarded a first class honours degree. She also holds a BA degree in music education and church music which she completed in 2006 in Hungary, where her organ teacher was the Liszt award-winning organist András Virágh. While in Dublin she studied with Simon Harden, Siobhan Kilkelly, Colm Carey (London), Douglas Hollick (Cambridge) and David Adams. Most recently Judit has given organ recitals in France (Léran Music Festival), Hungary (Church of the Calvary, Szombathely; Ják Abbey Church, Ják; Nyári Orgonavarázs Organ Festival, Veszprém), in Dublin's Unitarian Church and in the Tullamore summer organ series. Since 2010 she has been the organist and musical director of St Jude the Apostle Church in Templeogue, where she is the founder and conductor of the St Jude’s Chamber Orchestra and Concert Choir. Their performances have included the Stabat mater by Pergolesi, Mass in C by Rheinberger, Missa brevis in C by Mozart, Harmonia caelestis by Esterhazy, and Gloria by Vivaldi.
