Carole O’Connor began her organ studies with Anne Leahy in St Michael’s Church, Dún Laoghaire. She is a first class honours graduate of the Dublin Institute of Technology Conservatory of Music and Drama and of University College Dublin. In 2006 she completed a performance degree in DIT, studying organ with Una Russell, and piano with Siobhan Kilkelly and Mary Lennon. In the following year she graduated with a master’s degree in musicology from UCD. She then continued organ studies with David Adams at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She has participated in masterclasses both at home and abroad, including the Oundle Academy in Cambridge, the Académie de Musique Tibor Varga in Sion, Switzerland and the Romainmôtier Organ Academy, and she has given recitals in St Patrick’s Cathedral and Galway Cathedral.

Carole O’Connor recently completed a PhD in DIT. Her research focuses on French organ music of the twentieth century, with her doctoral dissertation examining the music of Jehan Alain. She is currently an instrumental teacher in Pianos Plus School, Blackrock College and Alexandra College. She works as an accompanist for choirs and soloists in Dublin, and she is organist of St Andrew’s Church, Westland Row.
