David Grealy
David Grealy, a native of Galway, has been director of music of the Catholic diocese of East Anglia since January 2024. In this role, he directs the music programme at St John’s Cathedral in Norwich, as well as leading music in the wider diocese. Prior to his move to Norwich, he was Assistant Organist at Leeds Cathedral, where he played regularly for services as well teaching on the keyboard programme for the diocese of Leeds.
David has also held positions at Westminster Cathedral, St Mary's Pro-Cathedral, and St Bartholomew's Church. In 2017 he completed a Masters in organ performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz, Cologne, where he studied organ performance with Margareta Hürholz and liturgical organ playing and improvisation with Ansgar Wallenhorst. He is a first-class honours graduate of Maynooth University (2008), and in 2019, became a fellow of the Royal College of Organists. David is regular demand as an accompanist, both at home and abroad, and has featured in broadcasts for RTÉ, the BBC and WDR (Germany).
